Two year-olds are rapidly acquiring new language skills and increased motor ability. They enjoy demonstrating this new-found knowledge, and need frequent praise and encouragement. At NPA our Twos are given ample time to explore and socialize. Emphasis is placed on sharing, helping, and learning to be a good listener. They are learning to listen to stories and participate in Circle Time, where opportunities for language development, so very important at this age, abound. Our teachers model language in the form of rhymes, finger plays and songs to make language acquisition fun.
NPA encourages an interest in books, music, art, and social interaction through open-ended age-appropriate activities with the large motor needs of the two year-old in mind. Our Twos practice their table manners and a potty-training program is implemented for those who are ready.
